At Equal, we believe that movement is about more than just getting stronger or sweatier (though we love that too 💪). Every time you step into a class you have a chance to tune in to yourself and set a simple intention.
What is an intention? 🤔
Think of it as a quiet inner focus - something you want to feel, cultivate, or remember during your practice. It doesn’t have to be deep or perfect. It’s just a way to check in with yourself and guide your energy.
Maybe you show up feeling a little off, distracted, or overwhelmed (we get it). Setting an intention can help you feel more present, connected, and clear - no matter what kind of movement you’re doing.
You don’t need to say it out loud or write it down ✨
Just take a moment before class begins. Close your eyes. Take a breath. Ask yourself:
"What do I need today?"
The answer might be something small. Something simple. Something kind.
Need some inspo? Here are a few ideas to try:
🌬️ I’ll focus on my breath
💪 I’m here to feel strong
🧘 I let go of tension, just for today
💃 I want to move with joy
🌱 I’m open to learning something new
🫶 I’m showing up for myself, no pressure
🌈 I choose to be kind to myself in this moment
Yes, even in barre or pilates 💥
Intentions aren’t just for yoga. You can absolutely walk into a barre or pilates class with the mindset:
“I’ll stay present.”
“I’ll trust my body.”
“I’ll keep going even when it’s spicy 🔥”
No one has to know your intention but you. And we promise, it can completely shift your experience. It’s not about doing more. It’s about moving with meaning.
Come try it in class this week 💫
Your body’s already doing the work. Let your mind and heart join in too. Whether you need energy, calm, focus, or just a little you time - set an intention and let it guide you. We’ll meet you on the mat (or the barre 😉).
