This week, more than 400 members of the Equal community gathered inside the beautiful Geertekerk in Utrecht and Zuiderkerk in Amsterdam to celebrate a milestone we've been looking forward to for a long time: 10 years of Equal.
Together, we moved, sweated, laughed, connected, and raised a glass to a decade of community. Seeing so many familiar faces alongside people attending their very first Equal event was a powerful reminder of what makes Equal special.
Ten years ago, we started with a simple belief: movement is better together. Looking around both churches last week, we couldn't have asked for a better reflection of that idea.
To everyone who joined us: thank you. Thank you for being part of our story, our community, and these unforgettable evenings.
Supporting charities: Het Stoelenproject & De Tussenvoorziening
One of the things that made this celebration even more meaningful was the opportunity to give back. Thanks to every ticket purchased, we were able to support two local charities:
- Het Stoelenproject in Amsterdam and
- De Tussenvoorziening in Utrecht.
Both organizations provide shelter, guidance, and support to people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in their communities. We're incredibly grateful for the important work they do and are proud to have partnered with them as part of our 10-year celebration. During the event, we proudly handed over a cheque on behalf of the Equal community. Thank you to everyone who contributed and helped make a positive impact beyond the walls of the church.
